About This Design

About This Design

Green sapphire engagement rings carry a depth of colour that diamonds simply cannot replicate, and the Sparsae is designed to make the most of it. The name comes from the Latin for “scattered,” and it describes exactly what defines this ring. Round brilliant and baguette-cut diamonds are set at varying heights and angles along the band, creating a sense of natural, organic movement rather than the rigid symmetry you find in most designs.

The centre stone is an emerald-cut green sapphire, chosen for its clean lines and the way the step-cut facets draw the eye into the colour. Green sapphires sit at the harder end of the gemstone spectrum, making them well suited to everyday wear. The warmth of the 18ct gold band plays against the cool green of the sapphire, while the scattered accent diamonds catch light from every direction without competing with the centre stone.

The Sparsae can be adapted to suit your preferences. The centre stone can be changed to a different colour sapphire, an emerald, or any gemstone of your choosing. The accent diamond arrangement, the metal, and the band width can all be tailored. If you want to keep the scattered concept but start with a completely different centre stone, get in touch and we will design it around you.

Design Details

The band is deliberately kept delicate to let the stones do the work. Each accent diamond is individually set by hand in its own claw mount, positioned to create an asymmetric pattern that feels natural rather than uniform. The baguette diamonds add a geometric contrast to the round brilliants, giving the design a layered quality that reveals more detail the closer you look.

The emerald-cut sapphire is held in a four-claw setting that exposes the full surface of the stone. This version of the Sparsae is designed to sit against a shaped wedding ring. We also offer a version with an elevated head so that it can sit flush with a straight wedding band.

Crafted by Hand

Every Si Vis Amari ring is handcrafted individually and hallmarked in accordance with UK law. The Sparsae is made specifically for you by experienced craftspeople who understand that every piece tells a story. From the initial consultation through to the finished ring, every step reflects a commitment to getting the details right.

What is a green sapphire?
Green sapphires are a naturally occurring variety of corundum, the same mineral family as blue sapphires and rubies. They score 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, making them one of the most durable gemstones for engagement rings. Their colour ranges from soft mint to deep forest green depending on the individual stone.

Can I choose a different centre stone for the Sparsae?
Yes. The Sparsae can be set with any coloured gemstone including teal sapphire, blue sapphire, pink sapphire, emerald, ruby, aquamarine, or tsavorite. The scattered diamond arrangement works with any centre stone colour. Get in touch to discuss your options.

How much does a green sapphire engagement ring cost?
Green sapphire engagement rings are priced on consultation as the cost depends on the size, quality, and origin of the sapphire as well as the metal and accent diamonds. Contact us for a no-obligation quote.

Will this ring sit flush against a wedding ring?
The standard Sparsae is designed to sit against a shaped wedding ring. We also offer a version with an elevated head that sits flush with a straight wedding band. Both options are available on consultation.
