About This Design
About This Design
A pear halo engagement ring demands precision that most jewellers skip. The Pirum Aureola — from the Latin pirum (pear) and aureola (halo) — is built around one principle: every pear-shaped diamond is different, and the setting should reflect that. No two pear diamonds share exactly the same length-to-width ratio or curvature, which means a standard pre-formed halo will never sit perfectly. We assess the full geometry of your specific stone and craft the halo to match it exactly, so every pavé-set diamond follows the true outline of the pear rather than forcing it into a generic shape.
The result is a pear shaped halo engagement ring where the halo frames the centre stone with even spacing on every side — no gaps, no crowding, no compromise. Three claws secure the centre diamond, with a V-shaped claw at the pointed tip for added protection where the stone is most vulnerable. The pavé-set shoulders carry the sparkle down each side of the band, drawing the eye naturally toward the centre.
Design Details
The halo is micro-claw set with individually placed diamonds that follow the bespoke outline of the pear. This is not a cast halo — it is constructed by hand to the precise dimensions of your chosen stone. The three-claw setting keeps the profile clean while the V-tip at the point of the pear provides structural security without adding visual bulk.
Pavé-set diamond shoulders run along both sides of the band, tapering as they meet the shank. The setting height is designed so the Pirum Aureola sits comfortably against a straight wedding band without requiring a shaped or contoured ring. This matters — many pear halo designs sit too high or too wide to allow a wedding ring to sit flush, but the Pirum Aureola is engineered with this in mind from the outset.
The Pirum Aureola is available in platinum, 18ct white gold, 18ct yellow gold, and 18ct rose gold. Each ring is hallmarked in accordance with UK law.
Your Diamond
The Pirum Aureola is available with both lab-grown and natural diamonds, so you can choose the stone that best reflects your values and budget.
Our lab-grown diamonds are graded to D or E colour with VS1 to VVS1 clarity and an Excellent or Ideal cut. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, optically, and physically identical to mined diamonds. They are real diamonds, certified independently by the IGI or GIA.
For natural diamonds, we source stones individually to match your requirements. Request a natural diamond quote through the configurator or get in touch directly.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a pear halo engagement ring different from other halo styles?
A pear halo engagement ring features a halo of smaller diamonds that follows the teardrop outline of a pear-shaped centre stone. Unlike round or cushion halos where the shape is symmetrical, a pear halo requires precision craftsmanship to follow the asymmetric curve of the pear — especially at the pointed tip. At Si Vis Amari, we build each halo to the exact dimensions of your individual stone rather than using a pre-formed setting.
Will the Pirum Aureola sit flush with a wedding ring?
Yes. The Pirum Aureola is designed from the outset to sit flush against a straight wedding band. The setting height and halo profile are carefully considered so you do not need a shaped or contoured wedding ring — although that remains an option if you prefer the look.
How much does a pear halo diamond ring cost?
Pear halo diamond ring prices start from approximately £2,000 depending on the carat weight, diamond quality, and choice of metal. Use the configurator above to see live pricing for lab-grown diamonds, or contact us for a natural diamond quote.
Can I customise the Pirum Aureola?
Yes. While the core design — pear halo with pavé shoulders and V-tip claw — remains consistent, you can choose your diamond shape, carat weight, metal, and diamond type. If you want to adjust any element of the design beyond these options, get in touch and we will work with you to make it yours.
