The Celare Volans by Si Vis Amari is a floating hidden halo engagement ring that takes our classic Celare design and elevates it— literally. The centre diamond sits in a floating head that rises above the band, creating a sense of height and drama that draws the eye from across the room. Beneath it, a halo of micro-set diamonds encircles the stone, hidden from above but beautifully visible from every other angle. The name combines celare, to conceal, with volans, to fly — a ring with a secret that appears to float on the finger.

Where the original Celare keeps its profile close to the hand, the Celare Volans lifts the diamond into the light. The floating head creates a gap between the centre stone and the band, allowing light to pass beneath the diamond and illuminate the hidden halo from below. The effect is a ring that glows with an intensity that surprises everyone who sees it up close.

Design Details

The floating head is the defining feature of the Celare Volans. The centre diamond is held in a raised four-claw setting that sits above the band rather than directly on it. This creates an open, architectural profile where the hidden halo is fully visible from the side, and light enters the diamond from every direction — above, below, and through the gallery.

The hidden halo itself is a ring of micro-set diamonds positioned just below the girdle of the centre stone. From above, the ring reads as a clean solitaire-style setting. From the side, the halo reveals itself — a circle of brilliance that enhances the centre stone without making the ring look wider or more ornate from a top-down view.

The band is slender and refined, tapering gently as it rises to meet the floating head. The transition from band to setting is clean and deliberate, giving the ring an elegant profile that feels both modern and timeless. Every angle offers something different — simplicity from above, sparkle from the side, and drama in profile.

Our lab-grown diamonds are graded to D or E colour with VS1 to VVS1 clarity and an Excellent or Ideal cut — the finest quality available, without the ethical and environmental concerns of mining. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, optically, and physically identical to mined diamonds. They are real diamonds, certified independently by the IGI or GIA.

The standard shown here — D/E colour, VS1–VVS1 clarity, Excellent cut — is our recommendation and it’s the standard we set for our own rings. The cut grade, in particular, is something we never compromise on — it’s the single biggest factor in how much a diamond sparkles, and every stone we set is cut to Excellent or Ideal grade.
