About This Design

The Simplicitas by Si Vis Amari is a solitaire engagement ring built on a single principle: let the diamond speak. A four-claw setting lifts a brilliant diamond above a slender band, with open daylight shoulders that allow light to flood the stone from every angle. The result is a solitaire with extraordinary presence and a silhouette that feels both timeless and unmistakably modern.

This is the ring we’re asked about most, and the one we spent the longest perfecting. Every proportion has been considered, from the height of the claws to the taper of the gallery, to ensure the centre stone sits beautifully on the hand without catching or snagging. It’s a design shaped by over fifteen years of crafting engagement rings and listening to what actually matters once a ring is worn every day.

Design Details

The four-claw setting is deliberately minimal. Each claw is shaped like a talon to secure the diamond firmly while covering as little of the stone as possible, maximising the amount of light that enters from the crown and pavilion. The open gallery,  the space beneath the diamond between the band shoulders,  creates what jewellers call daylight shoulders, giving the ring a lightness and elegance that closed-back settings can’t achieve.

The band is shaped for both comfort and refinement, smooth on the inside for an easy fit against the finger, with a gently rounded exterior that catches the light beautifully when viewed from the side. It’s slender enough to feel delicate while providing the structural integrity needed to support a centre stone of any size, from a subtle half-carat to a statement stone of three carats and beyond.

The Simplicitas is available with both certified IGI  lab-grown and natural GIA diamonds, so you can choose the stone that best reflects your requirements.

Our lab-grown diamonds are graded to D or E colour with VS1 to VVS1 clarity and an Excellent or Ideal cut, the fines quality without compromise and without any of the environmental or ethical concerns one may have. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, optically, and physically identical to mined diamonds. They are real diamonds, certified independently by the GIA or IGI.

For natural diamonds, we source stones individually to match your requirements. Whether you have a specific carat weight, colour, or budget in mind, we’ll find the right stone and talk you through the options before you commit. We deliberately chose not to offer multiple quality tiers for our lab-grown collection. There’s one standard, and it’s the standard we’d want for our own rings. The cut grade, in particular, is something we never compromise on,  it’s the single biggest factor in how much a diamond sparkles, and every stone we set is cut to Excellent or Ideal grade.
