About This Design

Three stone engagement rings are defined by balance, three diamonds working together to create something greater than any one stone on its own. The Confluere takes that idea and builds on it with an organic, flowing setting that connects the three stones into a single continuous form rather than treating them as separate elements mounted side by side.
The name comes from the Latin for “to flow together,” and it describes the character of this ring precisely. The gallery beneath the stones features a crossover design where the metalwork weaves between and around the diamonds, creating a sense of movement and connection. It shares design DNA with the Fluere, our solitaire ring with a similar organic gallery, but the Confluere extends that flowing language across three stones instead of one.
Each of the three round brilliant diamonds is held in a four-claw rounded setting that keeps the overall look soft and organic. There are no sharp edges or angular lines anywhere in this design. Everything curves, everything connects. The result is a three stone diamond ring that feels modern and sculptural while remaining entirely wearable.
If the organic character of the Confluere appeals to you but you would prefer a single diamond rather than three, explore the Fluere solitaire engagement ring which shares the same flowing design language in a simpler format.

Design Details

The Confluere is a three stone ring with a round brilliant centre diamond flanked by two smaller round brilliants. All three stones are individually set in four rounded claws, with the claw tips sitting close to the stone surface for a clean, unobtrusive hold.
The defining feature is the crossover gallery. Viewed from the side, the metalwork flows between the three settings in a continuous sweep rather than using the straight bridges or box galleries found in most trilogy designs. This crossover construction gives the ring its distinctive profile and creates interesting negative space beneath the stones that allows light to pass through freely.
The band tapers gently from the side stones into a comfortable D-profile shank. The overall proportions are designed so the three stones sit close together with minimal gaps, creating a cohesive cluster of light rather than three isolated diamonds on a band.
The setting height and side stone positioning are calibrated so a straight wedding band sits flush against the ring without requiring a shaped or contoured band.

The Story Behind the Confluere

The Confluere was born from a genuinely unexpected discovery. Mo came to us with a diamond he had inherited through his father, originally belonging to an aunt in South Africa. The stone had been sitting in a yellow gold bezel pendant for years, and Mo had no real idea of its quality or value. He just knew it meant something to the family and wanted to explore whether it could become an engagement ring for his partner Misha.
We sent the diamond to The Gemmology Lab at the Birmingham Assay Office for an independent assessment. The result took everyone by surprise. A 1.44 carat natural round brilliant, G colour, VVS clarity. A genuinely exceptional stone that had been sitting unrecognised in a pendant for years Mo didn’t believe it was real but it was an absolute beauty.
Mo and Misha had met at the University of Warwick, and he knew she would want something with character rather than something off a shelf. Misha is warm and creative, the kind of person whose personality deserves a ring that reflects it. A plain band with a single stone was never going to be the right fit.
We sourced a matched pair of GIA graded natural round brilliant diamonds, 0.30 and 0.31 carats, E colour, VS clarity, to sit either side of the inherited centre stone. The colour match was close enough to appear seamless while the side stones complemented rather than competed with the centre diamond. The whole design was set in platinum with the organic, flowing crossover gallery that gives the Confluere its name.
Three stones from different origins, brought together into one design. That felt like the right story for this ring, and it became the foundation for a design we now offer to everyone.

Your Diamond

The Confluere is available with both lab-grown and natural diamonds, so you can choose the stones that best reflect your values and budget.
Our lab-grown diamonds are graded to D or E colour with VS1 to VVS1 clarity and an Excellent or Ideal cut. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, optically, and physically identical to mined diamonds. They are real diamonds, certified independently by the IGI or GIA.
For a three stone ring, the cost advantage of lab-grown diamonds is particularly significant because you are selecting three diamonds rather than one. You can choose larger side stones or a higher specification across all three within the same budget.
For natural diamonds, we source stones individually to match your requirements. We also welcome inherited or family diamonds. If you already have a stone with meaning, we can assess it, source matching side stones, and build the Confluere around it, just as we did for the original. Get in touch for a natural diamond quote.

How It Works

Use the configurator above to select your preferred metal and centre stone carat weight. Because three stone rings involve sourcing and matching side diamonds to the centre stone, the Confluere is priced on consultation rather than through live configurator pricing.
Configure the ring to your preferred specification, then get in touch or request a quote through the form. We will come back to you with a complete price based on your chosen centre diamond, matched side stones, and metal.

Crafted by Hand

Every Si Vis Amari ring is handcrafted individually and hallmarked in accordance with UK law. The Confluere is made specifically for you by experienced craftspeople who understand that every piece tells a story. From the initial consultation through to the finished ring, every step reflects a commitment to getting the details right.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Confluere mean?

Confluere is Latin for “to flow together.” The name reflects both the organic crossover gallery design, where the metalwork flows between and around the three diamond settings, and the idea of three stones from different origins coming together in one ring. It sits alongside other Latin-named designs in our collection including the Fluere (to flow) and Simplicitas (simplicity).

Can I use my own diamond in the Confluere?

Yes. The original Confluere was built around an inherited natural diamond, and we actively encourage this approach. We can assess any existing stone, source matching side diamonds, and construct the ring around your diamond. Whether it comes from a family ring, a pendant, or a loose stone, get in touch and we will advise on the best way to incorporate it.

How much does the Confluere three stone engagement ring cost?

The Confluere is priced on consultation because the final cost depends on the carat weight and specification of all three diamonds as well as your choice of metal. Use the configurator to set your preferences, then request a quote and we will provide a complete price. Lab-grown diamond options offer significant savings compared to natural, particularly for a three stone design where you are sourcing three certified diamonds.

What is the difference between the Confluere and the Fluere?

The Fluere is a solitaire engagement ring with a single diamond and the same organic, flowing gallery design. The Confluere extends that design language across three stones, with a crossover gallery connecting all three settings. If you love the flowing aesthetic but prefer a single diamond, the Fluere is the one to explore.

Will the Confluere sit flush with a wedding ring?

Yes. The setting height and side stone positioning are designed so a straight wedding band sits flush against the Confluere without any gap. You do not need a shaped or contoured wedding ring unless you prefer that look.

Carat weights shown are approximate. Your diamond will be within the stated range (e.g. a 0.75ct selection may be 0.73–0.78ct). Exact weight and specification confirmed at time of order.
