We make wedding rings for both men and women across every collection. Mens wedding rings tend to be wider, typically 5mm to 8mm, in court or flat court profiles. Plain bands are the most popular choice for men, though hand engraved and unique designs are increasingly sought after for those who want something with more character. Womens wedding rings are generally narrower at 2mm to 4mm, chosen to complement an engagement ring, and are available in every style from plain polished bands to diamond-set eternity rings.
If you are choosing wedding bands as a couple, they do not need to match. Many of our couples choose different metals, widths, and styles from one another, united by the quality and craftsmanship rather than identical design. We are always happy to advise on pairings and can help you both find the right ring during a single consultation.
Platinum 950 and 18ct Gold
Every wedding ring we make is crafted in either platinum 950 or 18ct gold and carries a full UK hallmark from the Birmingham Assay Office. We offer four metal options: platinum, 18ct yellow gold, 18ct white gold, and 18ct rose gold.
Our 18ct white gold uses a high palladium alloy that stays white without rhodium plating. Most high street white gold relies on rhodium to mask a yellowish body colour, which wears off over time and needs reapplying. Ours does not. The colour you see on day one is the colour it stays. This is one of the quiet details that separates our rings from mass-produced alternatives, and it applies to every white gold wedding ring we make.
Platinum is the densest and most durable precious metal used in jewellery. It develops a soft patina over time that many people prefer to a high polish. For those who want a naturally white, hypoallergenic metal that will never fade or change colour, platinum is the definitive choice.

Choosing the Right Wedding Ring
The most important considerations when choosing a wedding ring are comfort, proportion, and how it sits alongside an engagement ring if you wear one. A ring that is too wide can overpower a delicate engagement ring setting, while one that is too narrow may look lost beside a larger stone. Profile matters too. Court and slight court profiles offer the most comfort, particularly in wider widths, while flat and flat court profiles give a more contemporary, angular look.
If you are unsure where to start, our plain wedding ring configurator lets you build a ring to your exact specifications with live pricing, or book a consultation and we will guide you through every option in person.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a wedding ring and a wedding band?
There is no difference. “Wedding ring” and “wedding band” mean the same thing. In the UK, “wedding ring” is the more common term, while “wedding band” is used more frequently in the US and online. Both refer to a ring exchanged during the marriage ceremony.
What is the most popular mens wedding ring width?
Most men choose a width between 5mm and 7mm. A 5mm band offers a classic, moderate look while 6mm and 7mm make more of a visual statement. Widths of 8mm are available for those who prefer a bolder band. Hand size and finger length both play a role, and we recommend trying different widths during a consultation.
Do wedding rings need to match?
Not at all. Many couples choose completely different styles, metals, and widths. A yellow gold band alongside a platinum band, or a plain ring paired with a diamond-set one, is very common. The rings are personal to each of you.
What is an eternity ring?
An eternity ring is a band set with a continuous line of diamonds, either all the way around (full eternity) or across the top half (half eternity). Eternity rings are traditionally given to mark a milestone such as an anniversary or the birth of a child, though many people also choose them as wedding rings. We offer both standard diamond eternity bands and unique, one-of-a-kind eternity designs.
Is platinum better than gold for a wedding ring?
Platinum is denser and more durable than gold, and it will never change colour. Gold is lighter, available in three colour options (yellow, white, and rose), and generally more affordable. Neither is objectively better. Platinum suits people who want maximum durability and a naturally white metal, while gold suits those who prefer warmth, variety, or a lighter feel on the finger.
How long does it take to make a wedding ring?
Our standard turnaround is two to three weeks from the date you place your order. Every ring is made to order in the UK, so nothing is pulled from stock. If you need a ring sooner, please get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate your timeline.
Should my wedding ring match my engagement ring metal?
Not necessarily. Matching metals give a cohesive, traditional look, but mixed metals have become very popular. A yellow gold wedding band alongside a platinum engagement ring, for example, creates a warm contrast that many people love. The most important consideration is that both rings sit comfortably together on the finger.
Can I try wedding rings before ordering?
Yes. We keep a selection of sample rings in different profiles, widths, and metals at both our Didsbury and Manchester city centre studios. Trying rings on is the best way to decide on width and profile, and there is no obligation to order. Book a consultation and we will have samples ready for you.
How much does a wedding ring cost?
The price depends on your choice of metal, width, depth, and ring size. A narrow 18ct gold plain band starts from around £350, while wider platinum bands and diamond-set designs will be higher. Use our online configurator to see exact pricing for plain wedding bands, or get in touch for a quote on diamond and unique designs.
Do you make wedding rings for men?
Yes. Mens wedding rings are a significant part of what we do. Plain bands in 5mm to 8mm widths are the most popular choice, but we also offer hand engraved and unique designs for men who want something with more personality. Every ring is available in platinum, 18ct yellow gold, 18ct white gold, and 18ct rose gold.
