Choosing Your Diamond Wedding Ring
A diamond wedding ring adds something a plain band cannot. Whether you choose a half eternity with diamonds set across the front or a full eternity with stones running the entire way around, the result is a ring that catches light with every movement. These are rings designed to sit alongside an engagement ring or to be worn on their own as an anniversary band, an eternity ring, or simply because you want something beautiful on your finger.
The collection above covers a wide range of setting styles, diamond cuts, and carat weights, all available in platinum, 18ct yellow gold, 18ct white gold, and 18ct rose gold. Use the filters to narrow down what you are looking for, then select your preferred metal and diamond quality to see live pricing. If you have something specific in mind that is not shown here, get in touch. We design and make bespoke diamond wedding rings to any specification.
Half Eternity, Three Quarter, and Full Eternity
Diamond wedding bands are categorised by how far the diamonds extend around the band. A half eternity ring has diamonds set across the top portion of the ring, typically covering between 33% and 50% of the circumference. This is the most popular choice because it keeps the diamonds visible on the top of your hand while leaving the underside smooth and comfortable. Half eternity bands are also easier to resize in the future if needed.
A three quarter eternity ring extends the diamond coverage to around 75% of the band. This gives more sparkle from side angles while still leaving a small section of plain metal at the base of the finger for comfort.
A full eternity band has diamonds set all the way around with 100% coverage. The visual impact is striking from every angle, but full eternity rings cannot be resized. Your finger size needs to be confirmed accurately before ordering. We offer a free sizing service at both our Didsbury studio and Manchester city centre location.
Setting Styles Explained
The setting style determines how the diamonds are held in the band and has a significant effect on both the look and feel of the ring. A channel set wedding ring holds the diamonds between two parallel walls of metal, creating a smooth, snag-free surface that is ideal for everyday wear. Claw set (also called prong set) rings use individual metal claws to hold each diamond, allowing more light into the stones for greater sparkle. Grain set (or bead set) uses tiny beads of metal raised from the band surface to secure each diamond, giving a vintage, textured appearance.
Pavé set diamond bands use micro-claws to hold very small diamonds closely together, creating a surface that appears encrusted with sparkle. Rubover (bezel) settings wrap a thin wall of metal around each diamond for a sleek, modern, protected finish. Bar set rings use metal bars between each stone, offering a clean geometric look. French set is similar to pavé but with V-shaped grooves cut into the band beneath each stone, allowing extra light in from the sides.
Diamond Cuts for Wedding Rings
The diamond cut you choose affects the character of the ring. Round brilliant cut diamonds are the most popular choice for diamond wedding bands, delivering maximum sparkle and a classic look. Princess cut diamonds are square with sharp corners, offering a contemporary geometric feel. Baguette cut diamonds are rectangular step-cut stones that sit flush in the band for a sleek, art-deco inspired appearance, and are a popular choice for baguette wedding bands and baguette eternity bands.
Marquise cut diamonds are elongated with pointed ends, creating the illusion of a longer finger. Emerald cut diamonds have a rectangular step-cut facet pattern that produces broad flashes of light rather than intense sparkle, giving emerald cut wedding bands a refined, sophisticated look. Oval cut diamonds combine the brilliance of a round with an elongated silhouette, and oval eternity bands have become increasingly popular in recent years.
Some designs in the collection use mixed cuts, combining two or more diamond shapes in a single ring for a distinctive, one-of-a-kind look.
Natural and Lab-Grown Diamonds
Every diamond wedding ring in the configurator above is available with both natural and lab-grown diamonds. Natural diamonds are graded across four quality tiers, from H Si through to our premium D/E VVS grade. Lab-grown diamonds are offered at D VVS quality, the highest grade available, at a significantly lower price point than equivalent natural stones.
Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, optically, and physically identical to natural diamonds. They display the same brilliance, fire, and hardness. The difference is origin: grown in a controlled environment rather than mined from the earth. For diamond wedding bands and eternity rings, where multiple stones are set together, lab-grown diamonds allow you to achieve a higher total carat weight and quality for your budget.
Platinum and 18ct Gold
All our diamond wedding rings are available in four metals. Platinum is the densest and most durable precious metal, naturally white in colour, and will never change tone over time. 18ct yellow gold is the classic warm gold tone, rich in colour and timeless. 18ct white gold offers a similar appearance to platinum with a bright, cool finish. Our white gold uses a high-palladium alloy that maintains its colour without the need for rhodium replating, unlike the lower-quality white gold alloys used by many other jewellers. 18ct rose gold has a warm pink hue created by the copper content in the alloy, offering a romantic, contemporary look.
We recommend matching your diamond wedding ring metal to your engagement ring for a seamless look when worn together, though mixing metals has become an increasingly popular style choice.
Beyond the Collection
The rings in the configurator above represent our most popular diamond wedding ring designs, chosen to cover the widest range of styles, settings, and budgets. But they are not the only option. We also offer plain wedding rings in a range of profiles and widths, engraved wedding rings with hand-finished detailing, and our signature collection of unique bespoke designs. Get in touch with any requirements and we will put together options and pricing for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a diamond wedding ring and an eternity ring?
There is no structural difference. “Diamond wedding ring”, “eternity ring”, and “eternity band” all describe a ring set with diamonds around part or all of the band. The name used often depends on the occasion. A diamond wedding ring is typically exchanged during the wedding ceremony, while an eternity ring is traditionally given to mark an anniversary or milestone. The rings themselves are identical in design and construction.
Should I choose a half eternity or full eternity ring?
A half eternity ring is the more practical choice for most people. The diamonds are set across the visible top of the band, with the underside left as smooth metal for comfort. Half eternity rings can also be resized if your finger size changes over time. A full eternity ring has diamonds set all the way around and cannot be resized, so your size must be accurate at the time of ordering. Full eternity bands make more of a visual impact, particularly when worn alone or stacked.
Can a diamond wedding ring be resized?
Half eternity and three quarter eternity rings can usually be resized by one or two sizes in either direction, depending on the setting style. Full eternity rings cannot be resized because the diamonds run all the way around the band and any alteration would disrupt the settings. If you are ordering a full eternity ring, we strongly recommend being sized in person at one of our studios beforehand.
What is the most popular diamond cut for a wedding band?
Round brilliant cut diamonds are the most popular choice for diamond wedding bands. They deliver the most sparkle and suit every setting style. Baguette cut diamonds are the second most popular, offering a sleek, geometric look that works particularly well in channel settings. Princess cut and emerald cut diamonds are also strong choices depending on the style you prefer.
Should my wedding ring match my engagement ring metal?
Matching metals gives the cleanest look when the rings are worn together, particularly if the wedding band sits flush against the engagement ring. However, mixing metals such as a platinum engagement ring with a rose gold wedding band has become a popular and intentional style choice. There is no right or wrong answer, it comes down to personal preference.
Are lab-grown diamonds suitable for wedding rings?
Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, identical in every measurable way to natural diamonds. They have the same hardness (10 on the Mohs scale), the same optical properties, and the same chemical composition. For eternity rings and diamond wedding bands where multiple stones are used, lab-grown diamonds offer excellent value, allowing you to achieve a higher total carat weight and quality for your budget.
How long does a diamond wedding ring take to make?
All our diamond wedding rings are made to order in the UK. Typical turnaround is three to four weeks from the date your order is placed. If you have a specific deadline, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate it. Rush orders are available when time is tight.
Can I order a bespoke diamond wedding ring?
Absolutely. The configurator above shows our most popular ready-to-order designs, but we design and make bespoke diamond wedding rings to any specification. Whether you need a shaped band to fit around your engagement ring, a specific diamond arrangement, or a completely original design, get in touch and we will work with you to create exactly what you want.
What is the difference between channel set and claw set?
Channel set diamonds sit between two smooth walls of metal, creating a flat, snag-free surface. This makes channel set wedding rings ideal for people who work with their hands or prefer a low-profile ring. Claw set diamonds are held by individual metal prongs, which allows more light to enter the stones from the sides, producing more sparkle. Claw set rings have a slightly more raised profile and a more traditional diamond ring appearance.
Do you offer men’s diamond wedding bands?
Yes. Many of the wider band designs in the collection work well as men’s diamond wedding bands, particularly channel set and rubover styles in wider widths. If you are looking for something specific for a men’s diamond wedding ring, contact us and we can recommend options or create a bespoke design.
